Summer is here and with the nice weather comes BBQ’s, pool days, and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables! I love almost everything fresh during the summer season. There are so many options when cooking too. Two of my favorites are either grilling everything, have you ever grilled peaches! OMG! Or leaving it raw and eating it fresh. I know what you are thinking, “We need to know what to shop for seasonally in Summer!!!” Let me help!Image may be NSFW.

There are so many wonderful choices for summer. Get creative and love a rainbow of food. That is what I tell my kids. Whether it works or not is totally another story. One of my favorite things to do is get a big platter and make a big rainbow, literally, cut up a bunch of options and place them in a rainbow pattern. The kids think its pretty awesome and then let them fill their plate. Usually they try to grab at least something from each color.
It is a fun challenge for them to taste the rainbow and lets you know they are getting all those vitamins that they need for their brains to keep healthy during the summer slag.
Here is a handy Summer Fruits and Veggies printable so you can always know what is in season when you hit the farmers market!
Eating the season is a great way to get and stay beach or pool ready. You will feel good and have more energy to get out and be active.
Enjoy!
