Originally these rainy day sticks were supposed to be for hurricanes or in Florida the rainy season during summer.
Now I think this is a phenomenal idea for everyone who is social distancing and staying in doors with their kids.
One of the most frustrating things is going to be keeping the kids seperated. It is the safest thing for them and you to be honest as much as it stucks.
So in the spirit of getting through this trying time with some fun for both you and your kids; here is a nice idea we have used in the past during hurricanes and other rainy summer days.

To create:
- Get popsicle sticks, a jar of some kind, markers, and stickers
- Have your kids make a list of 10 fun things they can think of to do INSIDE.
- You come up with 10 ideas yourself. Try to make them interactive activities. Here is a great list of things to do indoors.
- Write all of the ideas on the popsicle sticks
- Decorate the jar you will be keeping the popsicle sticks in with stickers to make it fun for the kids
- Place the popsicle sticks in the jar upside-down.

Now, once a day or once a week, take turns pulling a popsicle stick out of the jar. You have to take the time and do whatever it says on the stick.
Have fun with it and make sure that your kids enjoy all of the ideas you come up with. You will kind of force yourself into doing fun things like indoor picnics, building a pillow forts, playing dress up, and having family game time.
This is a nice way to take a break from the work of long distance learning, electronics and keeping them on a schedule. It also helps to show them how much fun it can be to be spontaneous. Plus you can dominate them in hide and seek!
Stay Healthy,
Kristin
